Re-invitation of Bids for Private Sector Participation in Acquisition, Operation and Management of barges in respect of prima facie viable projects on National Waterways No.1, 2 and 3.



        Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) invites Private Sector Participation (PSP) on Joint venture basis for Acquisition, Operation, Management of barges on -National WaterwayNo.1(NW-1), the Ganga, NW-2 the Brahmaputra and NW-3 the west coast canal on Joint venture basis for the following Origin Destination (OD) pairs.

        As per the Policy, there is no restriction on the movement of barges to any particular OD pair. However, the selection of bidder would be based on responsiveness to the selection criteria for specific OD pair for which the bid would be submitted. A JV company once formed and operational would be free to decide about the movement of barges at different OD pairs.

        IWAI has appointed M/s. IFCI Limited (IFCI) as Consultant in connection with short-listing and selecting the Joint Venture partner(s)

        The scope of work would span from acquisitions of barges, operation and its maintenance, identification and development of the market to managing the project as Joint Venture Partner as per terms and conditions detailed in the bid document.

The bid documents containing the relevant information viz., formats of requisite documents can be obtained in person or by post during working hours on any working day on payment of non-refundable Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Inland Waterways Authority of India Fund payable at New Delhi/NOIDA on any Nationalised/ Scheduled Bank from the Director, IWAI, A-13. Sector 1, NOIDA(U.P) PIN-201301, or from the under mentioned address latest by 13.01.2006.

        Interested Parties are requested to submit their Technical and Financial Bids (in separate sealed covers) in the prescribed format along with the Bid Security Amount (refundable) as specified in the Bid Document at the under-mentioned address, not later than 17.00 hrs (IST) on 17.02.06. Each project to be bidded separately by the Bidders. However, the bidders have the option to bid for any or all number of barges in each project.

        IWAI, reserves the right to withdraw from the process or any part thereof, to accept or reject any or all offer at any stage of the process and /or modify the process or any part thereof or to vary terms at any time without assigning any reason whatsoever. No financial obligation will accrue to IWAI or IFCI in such an event. Further IWAI or IFCI shall not be responsible for non-receipt of correspondence sent by post/courier /e-mail/fax.
